BCIT Commercialization Boot Camp

December 14, 2010

BCIT is offering their widely acclaimed free all-day Commercialization Boot Camp for entrepreneurs, inventors and BC businesses!

The BCIT Commercialization Boot Camp is designed to assist early and later stage BC businesses through the processes and pitfalls of commercialization.

This is a unique networking event – one that transcends traditional handshakes and exchanging of business cards. Industry professionals, SMEs and entrepreneurs interact to innovate ideas and establish new business relationships. The all-day training and networking will assist you in getting your product from the idea stage to the marketplace.

Industry experts

The speakers are subject matter experts at the forefront of their fields:
• Product and business development
• Funding, tax credits, research assistance programs
• Industrial design
• Intellectual property/Patenting
• Market research and competitive intelligence
• Market validation
• Marketing / social media
• Prototype development and evaluation

The program will help you to:

• avoid the all-too-common mistakes that lead to new product failure
• redefine your views on new product development;
• explore alternate strategies to your idea;
• learn from the experiences of other industry experts and entrepreneurs who have overcome similar challenges
to the ones you currently face!

The  Scientific Research and Experimental Development Program

Funding is always a significant challenge for businesses ranging from early stage start-up to fully functional and mature organizations, in all sectors of the Canadian economy. The CRA Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit program is an “entitlement” program designed to inspire, encourage and support research and development in Canada. The program provides needed support, through cash tax refunds and tax credits to businesses in their efforts to achieve technological advancement or in the pursuit of solutions to technological obstacles encountered in the conduct of business.

Typically, tax refunds and credits are available within 60+ days of filing and SR&ED claim. The refunds can be used to boost your cash flow, re-vitalize your R&D program in efforts to enhance or maintain your competitive advantage in your marketplace by developing and introducing new and innovative products, materials and processes.

Green Hat Consultants have been invited to participate in the last 3 BCIT Commercialization Boot Camps through their presentation of the critical success factors that every business owner and manager should know about the SR&ED program.
