We are aware that fraudulent emails are being received that appear to come from info@agtax.ca and require the recipient to enter personal details in order to get a refund from the CRA.
These emails are phishing scams, using the contact details of many accounting firms, and should be ignored and deleted.
The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (1-888-495-8501) is aware of the scam and is advising our clients to delete the email immediately.
We have also informed the CRA about the emails. They advise our clients that the CRA would never request personal information to be provided over a website and that they should delete the email.
If you have any further questions, please contact the Canada Revenue Agency directly (1-800-959-8281 for individuals, 1-800-959-5525 for businesses)
